My roomate said cleaning people don't have it hard and that it requires no brain power to be a cleaning person in our university!

I personally think she's a pea brain and that it is a hard job cleaning the shit off the walls of those bathrooms.

She claims if it doesn't require a degree, anyone can do it, thus making it easy and that they shouldn't be paid a lot.

What do you all think?

The purpose of getting a degree is to enable you to get a well paid job. If well paid jobs can be found without a degree, they have been rendered useless. Simple, mindless jobs like cleaning are kept as low pay for a reason.

i think shes sounds like a real b!^@#....BUT..... she has a point. anyone can scrub crap off of a wall. why should u get paid a lot of money for doing something a five year old could do. i actually work in a position where i have to clean right now too so im not all high and mighty but i am able to face a reality. cleaning does not take any brain power. if u have to think, u deserve more money=common sense.

I did office cleaning for a little while and it sucks..The pay is terrible, no one shows you any respect, and you have some obnoxious people like your room mate that think only uneducated people do that kind of work..

I went to college and still had to take on that job as a second means of income to support my kids after my marriage ended.

I think they should definitely be paid alot more then they are making..
