A show based on Magic The Gathering?

I <3 to travel!

I think MTG has good potential for a show if it gets the Chaotic treatment; the rules are pretty easy to follow and the idea of planeswalkers actually sounds logical. The show could be done PG-V if it included some of the dark art that the cards have been seen to have.

If it was put on late at night then the show could rival Yu-Gi-Oh in terms of TGC shows.

MTG = Magic the Gathering

I'd rather see one set in the universe of MTG. A show based on the guild system of Ravnica, for example. It would be a solid action/adventure show, but still advertise the cards. They could make a new series for every block that comes out, so we'd get a constant supply of great action cartoons.

Hey, if I'm going to dream, I'll dream big.

MTG is comparatively in a slump because theres just no hype for it outside 'nerd circles'.

YGO and Pokemon and relatively mainstream.

Even D&D had their TV Series.

I am really surprised we didn't have a series featuring MTG yet.

At this rate, I think we'll have a cartoon series that drawls popularity to WoW TCG first, which I find kinda sad.

To be honest, I don't think a show based off of MTG would do as well as a TCG show (there is really only one good one, money maker wise, Yugioh). MYG has its fans, and enough that it doesn't need kids/teens that wouldn't know how to play the game to waste money and give up. Think about it. MTG is much harder to learn that yugioh is.

It is, but if enough hard work is put into the show then I'm sure one could easily explain the rules of the game. The game could be used for real battles and it would make sense because of how well structures MTG is.

Yugioh also started out as that, being a game in the Yugioh manga named Magic and Wizards. Once the game became popular enough where kids were calling the company asking where to buy the cards, it became its own thing, with different rules from that present in the manga.

Hey, I'd be all for this. I love the card game. (I had this one move I called Death By Ornithopter. Heh heh). Anyway, maybe such a series could revolve around a group of kids who play with an actually magical deck of cards, and they get sucked into the world of Magic, a la the old series Dungeons and Dragons. If the creators of such a series could write characters with personalities as funny and authentic as was done in D&D, it could rock. I would certainly watch it.
