A short new poem of mine...?

The nice one.... :)
Here you are trying to talk to a Friend whom you care for and want him / her to be with you, but that friend does not keep the same feelings about you.... but you are consistent and does and dont let him or her go..
 
Well this is the first poem I've written in a long while... Could you just tell me if it's any good? Also, what do you think the meaning of it is?




I knew from the beginning
What emotions I was feeling
Words came readily to mind
But my voice was hard to find

As I lost myself in you
It grew harder to speak the truth
I never followed through with action
You never knew of your possession

My want to speak tormented me
As my needs sought for safety
You never found the hidden meanings
My messages they were deceiving

When my courage flew away like birds
So did my unspoken words
The pain of your unknowing
As each day passes it keeps on growing

I always said, “Never again”
But here you are my fickle friend
