A Sci-Fi video game with a destructible environment or not?

A bit of a random question, but would you prefer a sci-fi rpg (similar to KOTOR and Mass Effect) with a totally destructible environment (like the Red Faction series) or not? I'm just asking out of curiosity due to the fact that it is one of my ambitions to be a games designer. ^^

yes i would play it, and if you wish to become a game designer try to mix games together, for instance try to mix a first person shooter with a strategy game. I'm just trying to say be unique because the the unique games sell the most.

It would have to be an environment that can stay destroyed, as it would not make sense if things came back all of a sudden - it would make sense if things were re-built (as in you would see people building whatever you destroyed). It sounds like a good idea to have things you can smash & destroy, but it would have to be done very well. Could've worked on Fallout 3.

I would go with a totally destructible environment. For me it provides a lot of different ways to enjoy killing things and also provides quite a bit more replay value. It will probably be a lot harder to design though...lots more bugs to work through IMO.
