A riddle that will stump you!?

I need help on this riddle...

Back then, a lot of things were cheaper. Cows were $10 for 1, sheep were $1 for 1 and hens were 8 for $1. A farmer buys at least one of each, and only uses $100, but he also only gets 100 animals. How many animals of each did he get?
 
It's not a riddle, it's a math question. start by buying one of each and adjust accordingly using the remainder for sheep (an equal 1 to 1 ratio). If under 100 buy more hens, if over buy more cows. The balance is at:

7 Cows
72 Hens
21 sheep.
 
80 hens = $10
20 sheep = $20
7 cows = $70

SCORE!!

oh wait...thats 107 animals...i have no idea lol
