A riddle I cannot solve?

Here's a riddle my sister told me that I don't know the answer to:
Mr. Smith and Mr. Brown are two businessmen. One night, Mr. Brown can't fall asleep. Then Mr. Smith calls him. Shortly after, he falls asleep. Why?
 
Mr Brown is an insomniac and Mr Smith is a hypnotist.
His command to Mr Brown was "when you hear my voice you will start getting sleepy...sleepier...your eye's are getting heavier and heavier..your eyelids are dropping...you are starting to sleep...you are asleep...when you wake up in the morning you will go to your bank and transfer all your money and assets to my account...."
