A really blantant and awesome theme from the Dark Knight...

Which was made perfect by Heath Ledgers acting was the comparison of the Joker to a mad dog of sorts. I didn't think about how obvious it was till the second time I saw it but you have the "dog chasing cars" reference, and the seemingly pointless focus on the dogs that give batman his biggest troubles and of course the dogs are all with the joker for the final fight scene waiting with him and it's pretty specifically shot to show them up at the top of the building together in the "sonar" scene.

The thing Heath did to drive it home was his body language in the fight scenes. The way he fought completely captured a sort of feral animal or rabid dog. He kind of circles around cautiously for just a second all hunched over practically drooling with blood lust and as soon as batman was weak from his henchmen or down he didnt waste a second pouncing ferociously and striking hard and fast over and over. It was one of my favorite parts of his performance honestly because the devil is in the details and that whole thing was perfect.

Cliff Notes: Heath Ledger is a fucking beast.

Then there was a reference where Two-Face says something about the Joker just being a mad dog, he wanted who let him off the leash

Yeah someone pointed that out already. My point was that it was more than just a few verbal comparisons but the theme and imagery of a mad dog was an important part of how the character was developed and influences alot of his mannerisms throughout the movie.

Yeah that too. I didn't want to include that because that could just be part of the creepy repitoire, like the weird eye rolling.
