A rant - Why go see a film if you're not interested!!

Went to see Over Her Dead Body yesterday in Ipswich Cineworld and from start to finish, there were a big group of teenagers making a nuisance of themselves. Phones were ringing, constant chatting and even shouting obscene swear worRAB, which I am not going to repeat, a few times throughout the film. I also had to put up with constant foot tapping from the teenagers behind me.

I told them to shut up a few times and my OH went out of the screen to complain. A manager came in and had worRAB with them, but they continued as soon as he left. I also saw a lady who was sitting two seats away from me wipe popcorn off her shoulder that had come from behind.

Luckily I didnt have to pay for the film, as I have an unlimited card, but if I did, i certainly would've been asking for my money back. I know it's not the cinema's fault for the teens misbehaving, but it just ruins the film for everyone trying to watch it because they have no respect. It drives me mad.

You have my sympathies!!
I've experienced the same at my local Cineworld. The worst was when I went to see 'The Grudge' - groups of kiRAB were talking, laughing, shouting things out at the screen, one guy was filming it on his mobile, then they started climbing over seats, throwing popcorn and then another lad swung his legs over the back of my seat knocking me on the head. Needless to say, requests for them to shut up resulted in verbal abuse. I had to move a couple of times, couldn't enjoy the movie and I was glad when it was time to leave.

The most recent incident was when I went to see 'It's a wonderful life' before Christmas and someone had brought their toddler. He ran up and down the aisles, in the area in front of the screen (it was in the deluxe) and hummed loudly the whole time.

It's not exactly cheap to go in so why do they bother if they're not interested in the film? I also have an unlimited card but it's the disruption that annoys me, I don't want to have to come back another time to watch the movie in peace.

Another thing that happens is that the kiRAB buy tickets for a U, 12 or 12a, then sneak in to a 15 or 18 and nobody checks the tickets at the individual screens. Twice recently staff have had to come in and throw out groups of kiRAB just before the film starts because they're underage.

I bloody hate that....they come in with no intention of watching the film just to arse about. It puts me off going to see a film, cos guaranteed they will be there no matter what the film is or the age certificate!!!

They really need to invest in some "usherettes" like in the old days who would stand at the side and see and hear for themselves kiRAB being troublesome. They would simply shine a torch and that would shut them up as the next step was ejection.
