A question about the Cleveland Show

On the Cleveland Show: Is Tim the name of the talking bear who is a friend of Cleveland? And why is Tim the Bear friends with Cleveland?
 
Nah, I think the bear is the equivalent of Joe since he and Joe both have a gimmick. Joe being in a wheelchair and Tim being a bear. Actually, I don't think this show really has an equivalent to Brian.
 
The bear is the opposite of Brian. Just because they are animals doesn't mean they are the equivalent. Tim appears to have Christian Values and is probably a democrat while Brian is an atheist and very liberal.

So far the only thing they really have in common is that they are both voiced by Seth McFarlen
 
Well there's also the fact that Tim and Brian seem to be some of the more "voices of reason" on the show. In the early eps Brian would always be the one offering advice to Peter about what he was doing (though in a fairly sarcastic tone) something Tim seems to be doing to Cleveland. Though Tim isn't as snide as Brian was about it.
 
We can't really say that Tim is the "voice of reason" just yet. All we've seen so far is him give Cleveland some advice in episode 2.
 
Actually, one of the problems I have with The Cleveland Show is all of Cleveland's friends have a gimmick. Even moreso than Family Guy's circle - there's Peter, then a black guy, a pervert, and a cop in a wheelchair. Joe is the only "gimmicky" one of that group, really - Quagmire, to an extent, but both Peter and Cleveland are fairly "average" characters.

With Cleveland's group, you have the racist redneck, the fast-talking midget, the thickly-accented bear... they seem more like gag characters than actual friends, y'know?

I suppose of all of them, Tim the Bear is closer to Cleveland in that he's the down-to-earth, somewhat slow guy.

So, yeah, he's definitely not the Brian of the group.
 
Well, I think the midget is the Cleveland of the group. I mean, neither one is really funny or popular. They're just kind of the fourth person in the group that really doesn't add anything. Makes you wonder if they're eventually going to give the midget his own show. I think the redneck is the Quagmire of the group since he's both despicable and funny.
