My mother recently purchased an eMachines netbook (one reason being our desktop computer is eMachines brand), when she got it, the sound was ridiculously low, and now that she's finally getting into youtube she wanted to be able to listen to music loud and clearly but the sound is low, it can barely be heard in the same room, let alone the whole house. My computer can be heard in the kitchen from the bedroom.
I don't know what kind of audio it had, but a knew one that I'm looking at for her has mono speakers. Mono sound tends to be low, like on my video games where it asks you to choose the sound type. This looks like a good netbook but i'm not sure about the mono part, that was probably the problem with the first one that she now sent back. My netbook has stereo speakers, and since mono and stereo are opposites (i think) I'm predicting that her netbook will again have low volume.
