The one I'm fuzzy on is the album cover from thrice's album the alchemy index, the image is this one:

I know the circle in the center to be known for being the symbol pertaining to alchemy and the creation of the philosophers stone, and is sometimes considered the symbol for it.
I recognize the circle with the cross (the symbol on the bottom) to be the alchemic symbol for terra, planet earth, often used simply to mean earth.
And i recognize the circle with the dot in the center in alchemy to be the symbol for sol, or sun, pertaining to sun or fire. and enlightenment to hindu people.
All goes well until the question of the two upon the sides comes up, the circle to the right with the line through it, i recognize as salt, not as what it is meant to be, which is water.
So here's the question, the one with the line through it a simple screw up on the bands part, or is it another symbol for water as it is meant to be shown as on the album cover, and the one to the left, I recognize only as a circle with no filling being an alchemic symbol for forever, much like the snake eating it's own tail. But it is mean to mean air.
So, mistake on the bands part with these two symbols or is my alchemy dictionary incomplete, enlighten me.
