A PPI that won't cause belching/burping?

My doc diagnosed LPR, which for me meant pretty much silent reflux, only symptoms had been cough related. Now with nexium 40mg/day it makes me belch as soon as I get up from bed first thing in the morning... I mean this is somewhat better than coughing but I'd rather have a different side effect...

I've heard that nexium is the cadillac of the PPI's... is that true? What would be the best substitute for a guy like me? Like I said I have LPR with none of the gerd classical symptoms... I feel that even my LES works opposite from other gerd sufferers, meaning that it closes when I lay down flat and it opens up when I'm upright...

Gavlin, yes, Nexum the best for acid reflux, I take twice a day and as long as I have the head of my bed elevated I can tolerate the reflux a night, I used to wake choking where I had sucked down my air way so elevation helps, also not eating or drinking after 5-6pm helps the night reflux. I tried reglan but to many bad adverse reactions. Hope this helps. Rita V
