You say the beauty of creation is what tells you God is real
I say your imagination gives the story it's appeal
You say it's best to play it safe and side with the one true God
I say that, for an omniscient being, this blind spot seems quite odd
You say that I should just believe and theres no way that I can lose
But if I believe in him "just in case," won't God see through my ruse?
You say your God forgave my sins and thus was crucified
I say your claims are unsupported, your beliefs unjustified
You say I should take some time and read the bible on my shelf
I ask you why your loving God must always hide himself
You say you don't desire proof, because faith is whats required
You say you won't deny your God, or the carpenter he hired
You say the gospels prove your claims that God's son walked the earth
But only two of these four books even mention a virgin birth
If you think our morals come from the bible, then take a closer look
Just what would the bible have to say, to be an immoral book?
If the bible said to go for a walk and murder your own son
I'd have to say that if this were a game, that would be strike one
If it's immoral to whore your daughters and condone brutality
Then I say Alas, not a page would pass, and you'd have strikes two and three
The atrocities are many, about which God seems cavalier
I say you should take another look, at the book you hold so dear
You say you feel I've missed the point, it's not black and white, but gray
The Old Testament was harsh, but that's when Jesus saved the day
You say that we need not obey those old Mosaic laws
I see how you try to justify but your logic has some flaws
You say that Jesus fixed all that, and we need not conform
But his words in Matthew, Chapter 5, they seem a bit less warm
You say that you're convinced of the Bibles master plan
But theres no more evidence for it's truth than there is for the Koran
You look upon the Gods of old as just tall tales and stories
But I must contend that in the end, that's Bible territory
You believe you hold a truth that I just cannot see
But there seems to be, among all of your creeds, an ambiguity
My words might seem unfair if you're a Christian or a Jew
but the Muslims and the Mormons, you see, their books are bullshit too
You maintain that God is good, if perhaps a bit elusive
But being just and merciful are mutually exclusive
So the soul enters the zygote at the moment of conception,
Say the same few guys who say it's bad to play with your erection
You'll take the claims of ignorant men, who really couldn't know
And condemn life saving research just to save an embryo
you never see the hypocrisy in the life that you portray
But your treatment of those who don't believe is a telling expose
Or maybe you fancy moderation, and it's not your place to judge
You have your own interpretation, unwilling to budge
You live the best you can, not by the strict rules of the text
But if my unbelief sends me to hell, wouldn't that make you next?

I liked your poem. I am a child of God and believe most people don't have an OPEN mind enough to see the talent and Honesty in it. Truly excellent artistry!
