A poem about racist music?

You know, my curiosity
you know, it got the best of me,
and when I saw it glisten
I just had to have a listen

just to see what it was like,
though I knew I wouldn't like,
I ordered their CD
and they shipped it right to me,

so I put it in the player,
I'm no naysayer,
music filled with hate
and it made me quite berate

and it made me really sad
and not at all glad
their hit list never ends
and they want to kill my friends

my friends who are gay
just because they are that way
and my friends who are Asian,
they hate all but straight Caucasian

Still, ending the long day,
no matter what they say,
I cannot take to heart
'cause that isn't a good start.

well, what do you think?
i listened to it and was just so upset
i had to get it into a poem.
please be honest, but not too harsh.

words can right and divide
even force you to one side
but behind them none can hide
the truth is true and we must abide
by what we know from the heart
never can be torn apart
even if some call it art
speak your mind and you can start
to make a difference, in your own small way, by sharing with friends and exposing the awfulness and ugly minds, that seek to gain from exploiting the hate and hurt that rests in soured souls

Those that hate really hate themselves
Storing their souls upon dirty shelves
Seeing in no man any good
Hiding behind swastikas and white hoods
Leading fools towards their destruction
Hatred is the devil's seduction
I choose another plan
Which is to love my fellow man.....

I love what you've written here. Trust your instincts about these matters. More people need to speak up and not be bullied into buying crap. Stay strong and true to what you know to be right. Your poem is well written. I also appreciate what HP and Semper Fi wrote. All good to read.
