I just talked to Ducati Omaha today (ordered the old system through them DEC 09 and still waiting) and I tried getting the new system instead. Well they told me that the pipes wont be released until AUG 2010 and that is when Ducati releases the Appreal. They also told me that Ducati changed the computer systems and that is also causing the delay from Ducati. It is not the local dealerships fault, it's THE COFFEE DRINKING, BREAK EVERY 5 MINUTES ITALIANS causing this (shit they can build a bike though!) I want the new style so bad but if this date is correct like they are saying then I don't know if I can wait. BTW Ducati Omaha is one of the best dealerships I have done business with and they are very honest people. If anyone has any other info about the new pipes please let me know that way I can cancel my order on the old style and buy the new ones. Thanks.

Personally, I don't really get the Akra comparisons. The Akras are boxy and have a totally different endcap. You can only do so much with a CF can.

my comparison is not for exactness of the can shape similarities, but the point is that why is ducati trying to keep up with the trendy look of these can shapes. I just think that traditional shapes are more timeless and don't dilute the bikes original shape. Those cans are too short for me, makes the rear end look disproportionate, that's all...merely a personal opinion.
I hope they are too but they have been spot on about everything else. I am still trying to get other Ducati shops thoughts about this. I am saving my last resource until all else has failed. I was stationed in Italy for 9 years and my wife is from there BUT her parents dont know I bought the 1198 and she doesn't want me to tell them until they come visit. However my brother in law over there has really good connections and can get me info. So let me try over here before I piss my wife off!!! LOL. I will most definately keep you up to date about them them though. I will also call Ducati Pisa and talk with them (yes I speak Italian). I will talk to you guys later and hopefully with some good news.
