A New TMNT Series?

I have the FF v2 release, and no it doesn't have any 'transition footage'. I'm sincerely hoping they go the way Knightmare has outlined, as it would be rather maddening to not have this bit archived on dvd.

On another note, while the inside of the FF cover lists Zixxth Sense as the final episode, in actuality 'Day of Awakening' is the final episode in playing order. Take that as you will.

I guess they relalized that "Day of Awakening" made a better finale than "Zixxth Sense". Even though they introduce Space Station Bishop in the "Day of Awakening", but that's just one of those smalle things you have to live with when dealing with 4Kids.

Although I wonder the last couple of season 4Kids would play an episode or two from the upcoming TMNT season if there was room on the schedule, like when they air the first 3 parts of "Battle Nexus" after they had ran through all of the previous season's episodes, or airing the first part of the Ninja Tribunal Storyline after the Season 4 storyline had been wrapped up with "Good Genes"; Could "Zixxth Sense" have actually been the season premire for Season 2 of Fast Forward that has now been scrapped in favor of returning the series to it's previous incarnation with a new title?

Whew. Looks like we dodged another bullet. The newest pitch for a TMNT series was to bring the turtles back to the present...with their baby selves. The potential series, called TMNT: Overload, was approved by Mirage, but disapproved by Playmates Toys, who (rightfully) hated the idea.

All I can say is...thank goodness.

Word has it that 4Kids has another pitch prepared.

Here's the story.

Better then the card game idea but not much. Keep pitching ideas until a good one comes along since no one wants to see Turtles end it seems.

That's what they're doing now. If you mean with the 2K3 art style, that's buried and gone. It ain't coming back.

Surprisingly I think Playmates is okay on this one. Like has been said, they don't care what kind of show gets produced as long as they can get a decent toyline out of it. The show had a great toy backing for its first few years where characters, vehicles, and variants had natural integration. It's pretty much the 4Kids angle that is throwing a wrench into things (and even then, some of that is with the Fox censorship board and beyond their control).

I wonder if Laird would go on a killing spree if someone suggested a scenario including a female turtle. You know the one... Or perhaps at least hire someone to go on a killing spree. A fitting end to 4kids... j/k or am I? At any rate Laird woulld shoot down any idea even close to that.

Style of writing. The basic similar plotlines with longer arcs that went somewhere. Just give it a new title, teak the turtles appearances, throw in a few new villains... you got a show. I don't see why they need gimmicks and Tangents to sell a toy line. Playmates made some bad choices with it. Who can forget the turtle Battle Tops?

With 4kids buying the CW for 5 years we could potentially see 5 more seasons of TMNT yet, assuming of course 4kids continues to renew the show each season.

Re-branding the show each "season" might not be such a bad idea as long as its true to the Turtles. Technically, Season 4 was initially called the "Mutants and Monsters" season, even though that subtitle was never official.

Season 5 is basically the Ninja Tribunal arc. So in retrospect, only Seasons 1-3 were the basic Turtles Vs. Shredder story, every season after that had a "gimmick" even if Season 4 and 5 didn't feel that way, (or not as much as FF did).

Whatever new series they deside to make, I hope they include some of the old characters from 87 series. Some of them deserve to be updated and improve on due to the old show miss handeling them.

Ugh. Exactly. Did anyone else besides me hate Wingnut and Screwloose being Brainwashing alien army men? Seems like a lot of characters they threw in just to sell the toys. I like Leatherhead and all, but he was better handles in the original comics, and the Archie publications.

I feel TMNT's shelf life (or should I say, Shell life) can only be prolonged if they decide to make a sequal to the last film. The series (and franchise) would definately benifit from another movie.

Um...no.

Sounds like a cute idea for a multi-part episode, but an entire season or more? No way. Are we past the point where we can just have a 'normal' TMNT series without some kind of gimmick attached? Is this show gonna turn Power Rangers now with every season having a different subtitled add-on?

I was kinda interested in the brief blurb about the Playmates idea, actually...something that touches on the original series and archie comics would be nostalgic at least, if we can't have gritty.
