A new G.I. Joe series?

Hmm,,is sunbow studios still around? (im pretty sure marvel productions (who worked with sunbow on the 80s show) faded away in the early 90s, but if sunbow is still around the animation style would be good)

My guess is, in all likelihood, the new G.I. Joe cartoon series would be produced by Entertainment Rights and aired by Cartoon Network. Now, what about an ensemble voice-over cast for the program. Grey Delisle has already been mentioned as Scarlet, but my idea for the ensemble cast would include Jim Cummings as Gen. Hawk, Steven Weber as Duke, Leah Remini as Lady Jaye, Faizon Love as Roadblock, Thomas Haden Church as Flint, Gary Chalk as Gung Ho, Carolyn McCormick as Cover Girl, Jeff Bergman as Falcon, Darius McCrary as Alpine, etc., and as the terrorist group Cobra, what about Mark Hamill as Serpentor, John Kassir as Cobra Commander, Michael Dorn as Destro, Farrah Forke as the Baroness, Gregg Berger as Zartan or Clancy Brown as Dr. Mindbender, among others, with Victor Caroli as narrator. Those are just my thoughts, but it's something to think about.

So Grey voices Sally on Spectacular. Who would love to see Azula vs. Spider-Man?:D

I no longer get excited when I hear about these revamps. The list of failures/atrocities outnumber the few that actually built upon and exceeded their predecessor.

Abominations: all the Transformers animes, Transformers: Animated, Voltron redux, GI Joe Sigma 6

Better than the Original: He-Man (2K2), TMNT (2K3), ...that's pretty much IT

if they ever get around to the Thundercats, I hope it's as good as He-Man & TMNT.

Those are great designs for the new G.I. Joe cartoon. I am really looking forward to this project as it seems to respect the original G.I. Joe A Real American Hero...Unlike Sigma Six.

Let's be honest. Sigma Six was a garbage animated series, and Resolute is the type of direction GI JOE has been needing to go in for its animation for a LONG time. I hope its good though and it could maybe become an ongoing series as well.

Wow, designs that aren't streamlined to death and everyone's moderately proportioned. Even Duke (!)

Scarlett kind of has a Scott Campbell-ish design.

Are they going animate comic book sound effects? Reason I ask is that I'm looking at Destro's arm cannon right now...

Check it out on www.adultswim.com

I didn't watch it since I'm not from USA, and Adult Swim block broadcasting to outside USA.

But a lot of people are stating that is very good. I'll be waiting to be published in an international website so I can watch it.

G.I. Joe Resolute airs Saturday 4/25 at Midnight to 1 am. This new web series is great, the first good G.I. Joe Series since A Real American Hero went off the air.

Personally, i wouldnt mind seeing an animated version of the old Marvel series from the 80s, which is widely regarded as the best adaption of Joe ever. Of course, you'd have to make some updates to get rid of the "80s" feel (for example, issue #2 has Russians as the enemy which would have to be changed).

From what I have seen online it looks excellent. It is a brilliant synergy of the cartoon mini series adventures e.g Mass Device, Weather Dominator, Pyramid of Darkness and the comic book. It is far better than SpyTroops which was written by Larry Hama the original writer of GIJoe.

Warren Ellis has always been one of my favorite writers and he has treated the GI Joe with a tremendous amount of respect and creativity. He was able to Do Snake Eyes origin in a couple of minutes and yet had the same emotional impact as Larry Hama's version. And Larry had more time to tell his story.

For Hasbro to allow Ellis the creative freedom to do what he wanted. shows a lot of guts. It is a shame they did not take that approach with the live action movie. Just from the trailer and from what I read about the script it is going to seriously blow.

In fact I think Hasbro should focus on a kick ass animated GI Joe movie instead of the live action crap.

With the recent movie and the moderate success it has enjoyed I am suprised that they have not announced either a new animated series or a direct to DVD animated movie, it would only make sense to capitolize on the buzz surrounding GI Joe as of late. Maybe they will announce something in the near future?
