A new G.I. Joe series?

Ugh!

Grey Delislie as the voice Scarlett?!

I do not like her voice acting at all.

Jeez it's bad enough the live action movie is probably going to be terrible based on what I've seen and heard about it.

This is just great.:(

I've probably heard the voice, but I don't recognize the name. Still, it'd be cool to have a new G.I. Joe series to go with the movie next year. Anything would be better than Sigma 6.

This may help jog your memory: amongst the characters whom Grey Delislie voices are:

Mandy from Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy

Frankie from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends

I'm just hoping that this series will finally be put into better usage for G.I.Joe than the amount of crap that was given to us in the past few years. I bet that Hasbro is still trying to wash their hands clean of Sigma 6.

As long as its real model guns shooting lasers and a not-so-over the top Cobra Commander (like the one shown in Spy Troops and Valour vs. Venom) as well as being competently made, I'll all down for it.

If they only knew...

Anyway, the point here is that Hasbro fails at this stuff no matter who they bring on board because of how they treat GI Joe. They bought GONZO of all people on board and the end result was horrible because of their restrictions, so much so Gonzo put it to a third-tier studio. Look at some of Gonzo's shows and tell me they couldn't do an adaptation of the comic.

It's the fault of Hasbro's owners. They have a strict no bullets policy in animation. While I'd love nothing more than for Gonzo to adapt the comic from Issue 1 to the finale, it won't happen for that reason.

I expect it would probably go over about as well as the original cartoon about an elite American military force vs. a terrorist army went over during the Red Horde 1980's. Despite being called "a ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world," COBRA was much closer to the threat of the Communist Hordes than to al-Qaeda. I would also expect the new cartoon to be about as accurate and worthwhile in our current War on Terror as the original was in suggesting ways to deal with the Communist Hordes :p.

I also can't imagine that any approach they'll have to take for kid-friendly TV will manage to satisfy anybody on either end of the political spectrum.

Seeing as how in the animation department Hasbro redeemed themselves with Transformers: Animated, I like to see what they would do with G.I. Joe especially their choice of writers.

I don't mind them making a new GI Joe movie, but the two GI Joe series's made since the original ended have both bombed: GI Joe Extreme and GI Joe Sigma 6. Lets hope they can finally get back some good writers and animation, since that's what made the original succeed.

Wait, now that I think of it. If this new G.I. Joe cartoon is set in the same timeline as Transformers: Animated, this might give Hasbro the opportunity to make a crossover.

Problem is though, that making any new G. I. Joe series at this particular time is a bad idea. When words such as "terrorists" and "American Hero" are considered a bad connotation and a sensitivity issue thanks to George W. Bush and The War on Terror, you're not gonna be getting a true-to-the-original series version. This is why making the live action movie at this particular time is also a bad idea. It will bastardize the franchise because Hasbro doesn't want to deal with the sensitive issue of "terrorism" and "Real American Hero" after all the strife that went down post 9/11.

If anything, Hasbro should be waiting for at least another 5-10 years before tackling a new G. I. Joe series or live action movie. Sigma Six could've been much much better if it wasn't bogged down with so much restrictions.
