I did a poem which is the first verse of this poem yesterday and BG told me that I should develop it into a longer poem and expand on it, so I will, I accept the challenge. I hope I don't fail completely. Free verse, and very laid back.
A home where we can see up high
Surrounded by the forest we would roam
Hidden in a dense shroud of green
Living in our makeshift tree home
Perfectly constructed, not as such
But cozy and comfortable none the less
It was like a second home to us
It seemed like fun, despite the mess
Had our binoculars, for wayward sprites
Hoping to find one to catch
Unfortunately all we got were birds
who fly and peck and scratch
Through the gaps, forest would loom
the cherry blossom in the walls
So very high up we had to have care
or we may suffer some painful falls
What we could see from our window
The thick layers of green and it's shades
In autumn turning to golds and orange
Winter, leaves were gone in these glades
Now if you walk past now you will see
a lichen infested soggy pile of wood
Still in the tree's some how, left over time
It was strong enough, I knew it could.
