A Loyal Fan

My friend recently was talking to me how bad the recent episodes of Family Guy have been, usually just getting unfunnier and unfunnier with each new one he watches. But he said he's still going to watch the new episodes out of habit and because he's still a fan of the show and wants to see if they improve.

Are there any shows you watch that, even though you believe it's gotten bad, you stick around out of loyalty?

I've kept watching new eps of FOP even though I've been pretty badly burned in the past. And I've come to one conclusion: Hope is like a drug to me. :p

Hmm for me Family Guy and The Simpsons I used to also watch Rugrats till it ended and that was crap by the time the show had gone. I mean Dill? Kimmi? Baby siter? New Grandma? All of those add on's were horrible. What else? FOP is another, I watch that and think WTF is this??? That JTPH 3 special was just a waste IMO but I still watchedXD

In truth I use to be a more loyal fan to a far range of cartoons, either in hopes that they would get better or because I just felt like being a completist and watching them. However as time passed that complestist side of me left and I became a lot more judgemental on which shows I would actually try and watch and keep watching then I use to be. The only shows nowadays that I really watch out of just loyalty to the show are the animation domination programs (besides King Of The Hill) since they have entertained me in the past (and sometimes produce a decent episode. Latley Simpsons has been producing more decency then I expected but could still obviously be very much improved). There's also a lot of Adult Swim programs I watch out of loyalty to Adult Swim and little other reasons like Assy McGee and (when it was on) 12 Oz Mouse.

I'm some-what of a loyal fan. If a show reaches the point where it can't be fixed or it doesn't seem like it'll be fixed then I stop watching. Example: Power Rangers, Rugrats, etc. However, if a show is bad but there's potential for improvements then I'll continue to watch. Example: Smallville, Scrubs, Family Guy, etc.

I've never been a loyal fan. I only ever watch stuff that I know I like, as watching crap is a waste of my valuable XD time.

Same here. I don't even sit through sub-par (IMO) episodes of a show I like more than once. If I declare "That sucked!" after the premiere of a bad episode of a show, then I never watch it again in reruns. I don't have to step in crap twice to know it stinks.

I'm a loyal fan. I'd still watch a new episode of FOP or Family Guy, if I get the chance to even if there's only one good gag.
The same goes for shows like the Simpsons, even though the bad episodes make me laugh a lot.

It seems to have gotten to be the opposite for me, as I haven't been able to summon the willpower to continue watching this show anymore. It's a shame because I was a fan of it's original run.
