By no means i suggest experiment with it (it's done way too often without encouragement), however what's your opinion, which freshwater fish (or critter) can survive more abuse from inexperienced owner. Options are
1. Goldfish
2. Betta Splendens
3. Common Pleco
4. Other (please name the champion)
Cmon guys I do not need suggestions how to abuse it(i have imagination), nor doing research on fish abuse. Just interested which fish hardier. If you want my opinion - champion is common pleco. Seen it survive 5 minutes of carpet surfing and live for a month on driftwood only in really poorly maintained cramped tank.

It's almost a 3 way tie between Goldfish,Betta .... and Oscar.

I'll go Oscar ... by a small margin.
No other fish gets placed in COMPLETELY undersized tanks more (based on adult size potential versus actual tank volume),gets fed more improperly, underfiltered, improper water changes (volume and/or frequency),and just generally misunderstood in proper husbandry.
It takes all kinds of beatings, survives all kinds of injuries, and comes back for more bad treatment.
Put 10 of each species named so far on display at a lfs .... and see what percentage of each goes to "abusive" homes .
You can always find Oscars being rehomed at adult size from these conditions .... so obviously "surviviors".

i am going with betta or Picassomous algae eater covered in tiny spikes there not tuff when there small but when there grown there about 1 foot long and no fish wants to mess with them.

Plecos tolerate pretty bad conditions.

Goldfish vary so much, it isn't really possible to make a valid generalization about them.

Bettas too often live short and unhappy lives in bowls too small to swim in.

Of the three, probably plecos...and the toughest of tough goldfish.
