A little baby bird flew down in my garden?

A little baby starling flew into the garden but now he has landed he cant take off :(

Will his mam come down and take him? Because there is alot of cats around here and i really hope they dont come and get the poor bird :(
I dont wanna pick it up because then its mam wont go near it again. Its mams bringing bread down but not giving the bird it, i think she wants the baby to fly with her, but it cant :(
 
The mother won't come down and take him, but she will feed him. The best thing would be to keep all the cats inside. The bird won't be able to fly for a few days. Whatever you do, don't take the bird away. The mother know where he is and she is taking care of him.
