The question is:
'New Zealand pygmy weed has been introduced into many garden ponds and has spread to some natural ponds. Here, it competes with naturally occuring plants. Suggest how the introduction of pygmy weed may lead to a reduction in the diversity of the community in a natural pond.'

Thank you. Help is appreciated.

the diversity of life is how many different species there is in the pond. if the weed competes with the other plants it will take nutrients, sunlight etc preventing them from growing, which will reduce the diversity in the pond.

The introduction of the pygmy weed may lead to a reduction in the diversity of the community in a natural pond because it competes with naturally occurring plants. If the pygmy weed overtakes the natural environment, it will basically be an invasive species and reduce the amount of different plants.
