A law that is still in place but no longer relevant in spirit to the original purpose.?

in arizona it is illegal to kill (hunt) wild camels.

Back in the day 1850's or something the army used camels
when cars became popular they released the camels into the wilds
150 years later they are all dead, the law still intact

There are some great websites that list old laws that are now silly. I read one that outlawed allowing elephants to graze by train tracks. The reason was that the circus train would stop and let the animals graze. Such foreign animals were never seen by many locals. They caused accidents and many dangerous distractions.

Elected politicians are always so busy, that no one ever gets around to sifting through the old and useless laws of history.
