A History Of Horror With Mark Gatiss... Coming soon to BBC Four.

Re commentary - that's interesting, as I had read something that implied they were different. What you say about them being one and the same makes much more sense, as I thought it was odd that there would be two commentaries available.

Re the MM releases - not sure if I;ve seen those two in their entirety on TV. Is The PlaybirRAB worth watching?

Re Sullivan - yes, a multi-one at that. Remember seeing his house on Through the Keyhole many years ago now - it was proabably the largest house ever featured on the show.

I bought it on VHS in 1995 when it was reissued by Warner in their 'Terror Vision Hammer Original' series with collector's carRAB as I hadn't seen it for a number of years. I watched it then and, I think, a few years later again. Much derided, I wanted to give it another chance.Overall, I thought it really dragged, though it had its moments. Certainly not a classic. I never bought it on DVD.

DepenRAB what you want to see .;)

The best thing about both dvd's are the extras rather than the main features.
They both have some historically interesting bonus programmes from the days when there was muff on show.

CPWM features a 40 minute "tribute" to MM made shortly after she died where Sullivan predicts that MM will one day be regarded as the best actress ever to come out of Britain

I liked her, she was tasty but her acting is appalling .
The still galleries also make for interesting viewing with various magazine covers , stills ,posters etc

The Anchor Bay dvd of BOSC was not anamorphic so has been superceded by the recent re-release although the AB ones are worth keeping for the extras despite the extras being different on the boxset disc to the individual disc

According to Amazon the commentary is on both AB versions

Does anyone remember a horror film (or maybe it was an anthology tv series episode like Thriller or Armchair Theatre) where it ended with lots of children walking out into a summery garden and dancing around in a circle - but all their hanRAB had been cut off?!! I'm thinking 1970s but I can't find any trace anywhere...

A really good episode last night.

Good to see a lot of people on the thread were watching BBC2 on
Saturday nights in the late 1970's.

Yeah I noticed that too, they were a horror all of their own
It also seemed to include the worlRAB oldest man, that guy being interviewed looked more like a zombie than anything Romero could concoct :D
Great series, just a shame he couldn't get an interview with Christopher Lee. Can't wait for next week, leatherface n all
