a guy i know got caught stealing a 300 dollar bike he is 17 years old?

is he going to go to jail, for how long?
i dont talk to him any more but im wondering if he is going to go to jail i already deleted him off my myspace.
 
It depends on your state. Most states a 17 year old is a juvenile, so he would not go to jail. It's doubtful he will go even if he is an adult.
 
He's someone you should stop knowing. He has probably stolen from you before or someone you know.

Getting caught is the best thing that could happen to him.

He will either regret it and change or become a full-time criminal.
 
It depends on state law. In my state, theft of value over $200 is no longer a misdemeanor. As a minor, he will probably not go to jail (unless he's a serial offender), but there will be some sort of punitive treatment.
