Gabby's father was murdered after being on a jury which decided capital punishment (death penalty) for the accused man. The man who received capital punishment came back as a ghost and strangled her father before her eyes. She never understood until this night. The ghosts visits her in her room for revenge. Before he attempts to murder her he tells her about how her father died and all that stuff. Then when he is mid-killing her, Gabby's mum comes in and throws the salt on the ghost (apparently banishes spirits). Then they are safe from the ghost.
