GM and Chrysler are denying it and will continue to do so until the deed is done. Now, here are the reasons why.
If the deal goes through Gm will only keep the Chrysler vans and Jeep product lines running. Gm will sell everything else off and use the money to prop GM up financially. As a result, tens of thousands of Chrysler employees will lose their jobs. If they made this public knowledge now Chrysler stock would be worthless. Gm would dearly love to get hold of the Chrysler Pension Fund too. That would spell the end for many Chrysler workers. We can only hope the can protect the Fund from GM corporate raiders.
