a fun riddle for you!?

i heard this one and busted up laughing

a man lives on the 10th floor of an apartment complex
everyday he takes the elevator down to the ground floor and then goes to work
every afternoon he comes back, takes the elevator to the 5th floor, and walks up the stairs remainder of the way to his room, except on rainy days. on rainy days he takes the elevator all the way to the 10th floor.
why does he only take the elevator all the way up on rainy days??
(it doesn't matter where he works, and the elevator and stairs are both inside)

He's a midget. He can't reach the buttons. On rainy days he has an umbrella therefore he can us it reach the buttons.

hes a short guy who can only reach the button to the 5th floor but on rainy days he has his umbrella and uses that to press the button to the 10th floor
