MRSA is no Joke. My father in-law just got it. First of all was she healthy before this happened?
If she was healthy before this then there a FEW drugs out there that might work. As long as it is not in her blood stream she should be ok. MRSA can be VERY life treating. If it is on the top of her skin then she would have no worries. If she was not health like my father in-law then she could be in a lot of trouble. I'll explain..
My father in-law has been in hospital sense June. He was in a bad wreck and lost half of his right leg has all kinds of things wrong open wounds etc etc etc.. not in good health all! It's in his blood stream and they are down to one antibiotic that might work. The thing with MRSA being in blood stream is that antibiotic's don't work what so ever. It fights against them. If this gets to the brain, kidney, other major organ's it will start shutting the body down. The body Simply can't fight against it. Sense it's in her cervix I would be worried because that's close to her kidney's it's kind of like a clout. (From what I understand) and if that was to move then she could be in big trouble. Just tell her to talk to her doctor. Get check up's as much as possible if she is not in the hospital. And no matter what she should always drink lots and lots of fluids to keep her kidney's healthy. I don't know what to believe but I've been told from other doctors that we shouldn't touch people with MRSA just to be on the safe side. But then there are other's who tell me it's ok and that I can't get it. But that's your call. I would get checked in a couple of months though just to be on the safe side. I've been told you can breathe it in when your in the same room.
best of luck!
