I would now have to say definitely yes. You will be removing the baffle which effects the exhaust flow and back pressure. Now with the K&N air filter you will have a good deal more air flowing through the jugs but the same amount of fuel. This would cause a lean condition and if too lean your bike will overheat, pipes will get much hotter, and eventually you will have engine failure if left alone. More air flow requires more fuel to keep the air fuel ratio within reason.
 
I have an aquintence who has a HD shop who can do the debaffle for me but not sure he would know how to adjust fuel air ratio on a suzuki ?
 
You would need to get a fuel processor, Bully, Cobra fi2000r or a PCIII. I would highly recommend the Bully from G-man. >HERE< is a link for your bike application. You cannot adjust the air fuel ration without one of these units. Nice thing about the Bully is G-mans customer service is top notch, he is an avid biker and you can take the "Bully Challenge" Don't like the unit send it back for a full refund. Can't beat that.

HMMMMM That kinda puts a different outlook on removing the baffles(just for the sound ).
We are using this trike stictly for the road (planning an a memphis trip over the 4th of July and a Wv trip first of Aug.) 2400 miles total
I don't want to add something i don't need that might cause problems down the road
If it will reliabley take as down the road at 65 MPH thats all i need. Might pust to a "small " trailer ---after that i may need to build a bit more power

Yeah, mods do get expensive, even the "innocent" ones. As far as power you would be able to get more hp with a fuel processor but your mpg will suffer. With my settings on the Bully I have lost about 5% mpg from stock but I have gobs of power.
 
That is a beautiful trike! My wife begged for me to get one when I told her I was looking to buy a bike. I am still in my 30's though but down the road I can definitely see myself on one. I rode with a group that had a shadow 750 trike and it had no problems keeping up.
