A few question about the E50...

I have been searching for a replacement for my 6230b, and have considered the following and in order:

Nokia E50
Samsung x820
Nokia 8801

I have finally settled on the E50 after reading some posts and some reviews. Im looking for a candy bar style super thin phone. What do you guys think?

Now for the questions on the E50...

1.) Is the power cable the new style or the old style like on my 6230?
2.) Does it vibrate? This may seem like a stupid question but i use vibrate 99% of the time, and the main reason for getting a new phone because my vibrate no longer works on my 6230.
3.) What would i have to do to set it up to work on my Cingular network?
4.) Will it interface with my outlook calendar like my current 6230 does?
5.) I cannot get email (well at least cheaply) without a data plan via my SP correct? I cannot have it where i sync my phone with outlook and send and receive off line until i sync again?

Thank you guys very much for any help you can provide me!

1st, try to post at s60 forum next time coz E50 is an S60 device...

to answer some of your Q???

1) it is the new power cable, however you can still use your old 6230 charger since an adapter is included

2) yes it vibrates

3) that one you ask cingy or goto cingular forum

4) yes it will interface using Nokia PC Suite

5) not sure coz i dont do this...

ah, im sorry i will try to post in the correct forum next time, i just figured that it was a nokia phone for the nokia forum... i guess i should pay more attention to the sub forums.

Thanks for the replies, i think i am going to pull the trigger on this phone, now i just have to decide if i should get it from importgsm or puremobile.

thanks!

Well i ordered my E50 today from importgsm, i sent them an email yesterday with a few questions and they were very helpful so i decided to get it from them. hopefully they are a good company.

Im really excited to get it, hopefully there will not be to much configuration needed to get it to work with Cingular.

ImportGSM is the BEST!!!!!! You have to set up absolutely nothing.....The new S60v3 devices like the E50 grab the settings right from the SIM Card..........If you do not for some really strange reason get the settings just look for the "Settings Wizard" application and that will guide you through getting the settings sent to you phone.............Oh and lastly welcome to S60
