a dog grooming question?

what breed do you have?
and how often do you take your dog(s) to the groomer and for what?(toothbrushing,nail cutting,hairt cut,etc)
or do you do this stuff yourself?

also,how often do dogs need to get their nails cut?
i never knew this because my dog's nails trim down by themself when they walk on hard surfaces

I have labradors and I have never taken them to a groomer. They only have a bath if they have rolled in something horrid e.g. fox poo but normally if they roll in it I take them to the river to swim and it washes it off. Never brushed their teeth but they get big bones to chew on to clean the teeth.

My oldest ones claws grow too quick to be worn down naturally so I inspect fairly regularly and do that bit myself with proper cutters. My other 2 wear theirs down naturally.

I have two teacups. A Maltese and a Chihuahua. I take them about once a month to the groomers to get their ears cleaned, nails cut and teeth brushed. My Maltese also gets a trim. But during the month, depending how quickly they get dirty, I bathe them myself.

My American Eskimo has only ever been to the groomer once...and all she got was a wash and nail trimming (though we need to take her again soon for her nails)....I wash her myself.
