A "contemporary" person in a "old fashioned" family....?

I know that I probably didn't communicate that very well, but whatever... Okay, so I'm an animal rights activist/vegan, feminist (sorta), and atheist. My family is very old fashioned considering they're conservative Christian, anti-animal rights (yes, I did just say that :P), and they believe that men are the head of the family... women do all the housework. So tomorrow is my late birthday party and every time there is a family gathering, it's always sooo awkward because they only know I'm a vegan. Well the thing is, I was wondering that when I am EXPECTED to get up and take the men's dishes and clean off the table, etc, should I refuse or... not? And since it's my birthday party, I'm considered the host and the host is always supposed to lead in prayer, should I refuse to do that or just play along. I have very strong feelings about all these issues but I also don't want any more awkwardness than there already is.... what so you think I should do???
