A Christmas Carol

Saw Christmas Carol this week and enjoyed it more than I expected. There are a couple of liberties taken with the original story but nothing major. Jim Carrey is excellent, the animation is first class and it actually made me feel Christmassy by the end - and I don't usually feel that way until Xmas Eve!

Two points - firstly, it is pretty scary in a few places - fine for kiRAB aged 10+ but probably not for those younger. Secondly, DO see it in 3D if you can - it's absolutely stunning, particularly the flying sequences over London!

Tbh im 16 and this completly scared me haha but when I tell people its scary they look at me like im stupid but it is scary.... Its a really good film though :) Loved it.

I'm fed up with it being redone a million times over. I know the ****ing story, becuase I've seen about 5 versions of it. or more.

Is no one talented enough to come up with a new christmas story.

This is one of the great stories imo, as relevant today as when it was written. This film in 3D is a thing of beauty and well worth the extra I had to pay to see it.
The only part I would have extended is where Scrooge spurns his betrothed in the pursuit of money-this was beautifully done in the Patrick Stewart version and is immensely sad.
All in all fabulous escapism and I just might spend another tenner to see it again if its around closer to Christmas.

Absolutely fantastic in 3D. I was awestruck at the end of the film. When the camera was flying through London at the beginning it took my breath away.

I was cynical having watched the poor 3D efforts on C4 last week but this 3D was amazing.

I went to see it tonight with my daughter and grand-daughter and it was very realistic. At one point the viewer is being taken up gradually above the rooftops as if flying. It was amazing, and true to the book. It gives a realistic view of the 19th century and all its grimness, tugging at the heartstrings. I loved it.

Just seen it and ....WOW! Dont think I can go back to 2d films that arent even in digital. This looked absolutely stunning. Never seen a full film version before or read the book but had a rough idea about it though. My 14 yr old thought it a bit boring, but she prefers Twighlight type films!! I really struggled to work out how they actually made it. The horses looked real and Colin Firths character looked and sounded like David Cameron:D

I did wonder how they slipped "oh bugger/buggery" in (when he dropped the key just before the first scary face appeared at he door) to a pg:eek: and when he locked the front door of his shop he appeared to turn all the locks in the wrong direction. Brilliant though:)
