A Christian friend sent me this... How do we refute this point by point? I have my own..

...ideas but .......? 1. "There is no such thing as absolute truth. You have your truth and I have mine!" - The question to ask would be, "Is that statement absolutely true? For both of us?" A person cannot consistently live as if there is no such thing as absolute truth because their overriding presuppositions are that some things are true and some things are false.
2. "Belief in God is utterly illogical!" - Ask in return, "So, are you saying that you believe the laws of logic exist?" If the objector to your faith says yes, then ask them to account for the immaterial, conceptual, binding the laws of logic from a materialistic worldview. If they reply with a "no" (meaning that logic doesn't exist in an absolute manner) then simply point out that this means their objection is meaningless. So, either logic exists (which is a horrible problem for atheism) or it doesn't and then no objections are valid.
3. "The God of the Bible is a moral monster." - Simply point out that without the existence of a personal God, moral absolutes do not exist. Therefore, even the objection to God's actions as immoral assumes that God exists! If God does not exist, then it is all about personal preference. Therefore, if God does not exist then one would have no urge to object to God's exist based upon moral absolutes.
4. This one requires some background. Imagine a Muslim or Jehovah's Witnesses objecting to your faith as a Christians by citing atheistic scholars. By saying, "The majority of scholars disagree with the notion that the New Testament is inspired!" or "Most scholars object to a belief in the resurrection of Jesus Christ!" the one objecting has defeated their own position. In other words, they are quoting from sources who also would (or do) object to the central tenets of their faith as invalid. Therefore, they are weighing evidence inconsistently and in so doing are actually undercutting their own position.

Thanks !
