A chevy cobalt shakes? what could be the problem?

I have a 06 chevy cobalt and it started shaking today..I drove it to work and it was fine then when I started it up to leave it didnt start then I got it on and let it sit then while driving it was shaking and now there is a smell what can cause this...help
 
umm could be the fuel pump. But could be a lot of things. Your in for a hell of a time though 06' chevy cobalts are just awful. Too bad you didn't hold off till now the new ones are much more reliable.
