2007 Chevy Aveo. Whether I have the temp on cool, med or hot, when I turn the dial to front windshield defrost, I hear the A/C kick on under the hood. Same exact sound as when I press the actual A/C button. However, the A/C button doesn't light up. BUT, if I leave the front defrost on I'll notice that sometimes the A/C button light will come on even though I haven't pressed it. I'll turn it off and sometimes it will come back on, sometimes not. I can hear the A/C compressor sound the whole time though. This doesn't seem normal... and I don't want to throw money away on gas all winter!
Can't find an actual free pdf that downloads (broken links etc) of the owner's manual online and I bought the car used so it didn't come with one. I have an extended warranty but the dealership is full of jerks (already been in once for something else) and I'd rather find some answers before I call them...
