Im getting ready to take the A.C.E. test and am still having a bit of trouble in a few areas, mainly program design, specifically periodization routines and also I am having trouble with conversion problems, i.e. figuring out someone's max heart rate reserve or something similar and going through the long process of converting the numbers to the right units....this isnt always hard but for example my book gives a sample problem for VO2 max and shows the numbers and computation but it is hard to tell where they converted or skipped a step to end up with the final number. Basically I would appreciate if a personal trainer could give me advice or perhaps lead me to a resource that has a collection of formulas like V02 max, heart rate reserve, etc etc.. and as far as the periodization stuff it tells you about mesocycles, microcycles, rest periods and all that but doesnt specifically show you an example applied to an individual. This makes me wonder if the program design can be pretty loose and general using these principles or is there something they are leaving out that i have to pick up on? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
