It all started on July 8th. I was sitting down watching TV when all of a sudden I felt a rush of warmth come over me, along with severe anxiety (to the point where I thought I was going to die), dizziness, difficulty taking a full breath, abnormal heartbeat (it felt like it was beating weakly or irregularly), and disorientation, trouble focusing my eyes and it felt like I couldn't hear properly. I also had a tight feeling in my throat like I couldn't swallow (this sensation has actually been going on for about a month prior to this episode). The intensity of the attack lessened after 20 minutes but the symptoms have remained. There is occasional tingling/numbness in my forearms, hands, and face that developed two days later; It is sometimes difficult to move these areas, like they are asleep. My appetite has also decreased and even though I'm hungry there's no desire to eat. My anxiety, difficulty breathing, chest/back pain, numbness/tingling, anorexia, and tightness in the throat are the most prominent symptoms. All of these issues are sporadic...I feel completely normal one moment, and then I'll start having issues with ANY of these symptoms the next at varied intensities. At one point I even went to the emergency room. At that time the most prominent symptom was shortness of breath, and so the doctor gave me an inhaler to open up my airways. He told me that the troubles I was having was a result of anxiety&asthma. I have never experienced on-going panic attacks/anxiety with these types of symptoms, and the breathing troubles do not feel like chest tightness from asthma (my asthma is controlled very well ) so I remain unconvinced that anxiety or asthma is the root of the problem. If anyone has any insight or suggestions about this, I'd really appreciate the feedback... I'm feeling pretty scared at this point.
