A 3D Nightmare for elm street

I'd like to see a new freddie crugar film in 3D because its dream sequences, if its done properly it could be bloody scary :eek:

I know some people hate endless sequels etc.. but I was impressed with the latest 3D Technology when i went to see final destinal and a toy story trailer came on etc..

What are your thoughts?
 
Only if the dream sequences are in 3D, not the whole of the film. 3D is an annoying trend in film for me, even crap like the Ring 3 is now going to be made as a 3D film... and the next Halloween film, no need for it in some films at all. I'm frankly not bothered about a knife coming out of the screen, or pieces of flesh...
 
Never been impressed myself by 90% of the 3D movies produced.I remember when Freddy's Dead was released,I didn't read any good reviews of the 3D content in that movie either.
 
In fairness 3D has come a LONG way since the days of Freddy's Dead lol. I'd be interested in seeing it but don't think it neeRAB it just like Halloween, I really can't see where it would benefit being in 3d
 
It's still nothing special, unless it's something like the effects in Avatar, different to the normal 3D used at the moment. Can't see them using the Avatar directed 3D for most films.
 
Wasn't 'Freddy's Dead' only 3D for the final fight scene/dream sequence where he reached out of the screen with his glove? I seem to remember that the FX took a nose dive and it looked very cheesy in this scene when compared to the rest of the movie.

If i'm honest, as much as the 3D has improved recently, i'd still rather watch a 2D film (most 3D films still seem obsessed with things coming out of the screen which looks really crappy in 2D. Only 'Avatar' looks like it's using the 3D for it's "depth of field" effects). The rumour that they are considering re-doing 'Iron Man 2' so that it's 3D saddens me.
