The "Diagnoistic Trouble Codes" from the emmissions test are:

P0441: Evaporative Emmission System Incorrect Purge Flow.......and

P0446: Evaporative Emmission System Vent Control Circuit.

The car/muffler has been getting louder the past 2 years.
Can you pls. tell me what u think I might need to fix, and how much it might cost me... so I can pass emmissions.
Should I take it to Toyota? Or should I take it to a local mechanic?

Thank You Very Much,
Emissions Test Failure, Joe

CHeck ALL vacuum on engine from carbon canister to throttle body. Clean your throttle body, plate, and IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE. Install a set of Bosch Fusion or Nippondenso Iridium spark plugs. You'll pass!!!

Both of these codes are EVAP related so I would suspect that you need a qualified person in that area. Purge Flow is a servo that is triggered by the computer to empty the purge canister at speeds above 45mph, if the servo has malfunctioned or electrical connection has failed, it could cause this code. Vent Control is another area that must be checked with a smoker to find the leak that is preventing the vent process from working. Dealerships have the correct equipment to deal with this problem, but they also charge the most. Good Luck
