99 Pontiac Firebird over heatting?

i would check the thermostat, might be bad or stcking. also flush the cooling system ,could be a blockage somewhere.

It just recently started. It has never heated up this fast before.
It heats up to about the middle, which is normal after about 15 minutes of driving. (210F) Then it gradually goes up while driving.. and seems to go jump back and forth. Going back to the middle when I make a stop.

Could this be a sensor malfunction? I havn't noticed any leaks and have not done anything normal. I live in Texas, the weather has been it's hottest is years, I'm sure that doesn't help.

Any ideas??? Thanks!

Does it ever overheat to max on gauge?? It sounds to me that you have air in syst which mean you r low on coolant check the level is it low if yes. you have a leak somewhere pressure test and find and fix it. Is it blowing white smoke . does the temp only rise while moving and drop back at idle? if so could be weak pump. but do the level and leak test first .. let me know if need more [email protected]
