Ok, so in the morning car worked fine, lunch at work, engine started, but ran a bit rough and wanted to sort of die at idle. Leave work, engine cranks but no start. Towed to shop, first report is *0* compression. They are thinking timing belt "jumped" They put the timing belt on fall '06. A) are they yanking my chain? B) if valves are bent, etc. do I have recourse as it was over a year since they put the belt on? I've had it back 4 times since for them to fix the squealing belt they put on at that time, so I'm thinking if it is timing belt, it was improper install.
Anyway, this is a 1.6L 4 cyl. 1999 Mazda Protege.
