went to auto zone. they ran the code and it came up as o2 sensor or fuel pressure regulator. there is no gas smell coming from my engine or the rear, and it only does it every once in a while. if i go with the regulator, it's over 200 bucks. but the o2 sensor is 60 bucks.
little bit more info: i watched the RPMs, and when it goes into the sputtering, the rpms drop dramatically, almost down to 0. normal RPMs about 700. it only happens sometimes when i step on the gas, if i let it idle, it idles fine. which do you guys think would be a better idea for me to tackle, the fuel rail, (only wawy to replace the fuel pressure regulator), or the 02 sensor?
have not changed the o2 since i bought it in 07. it probably is due for one. thought I might also go to my local pick n pull and just grab a fuel rail just in case.
