99 jeep cherokee how to bleed a new clutch and slave cylinder?

the slave cylinder had a plastic clip on the end of it which (i believe) is suppost to break when pressing on the clutch pedal. however, i am having trouble getting fluid to the slave cylinder bleeder so i cant build up enough pressure to break the clip. is there another bleed procedure in order to get a pedal because right now i dont have one. i have pumped the pedal forever. no fluid out of the bleeder.
 
im not positive but more then likely you need to take that plastic clip off probably there to keep out contamination during shipping here's a site that should help
