99 ford e450 7.3 turbo started cutting out and letting out white smoke power...

...loss and hard starting? done it twice in the last week whille driving loss power starts running real rough and blows out white smoke last time it happened wiggled the ficm wires and it started and ran just fine still is but an sure it might happen again do i need to replace the ficm
