I have a Windstar 1999 which is pretty much the same vehicle. What is it with their electrical systems? I have that light to reset every few thousand miles. Just annoying. I have been getting a shock off the drivers door after I park and go to get out too. Only 40,000 miles on it too. (original owner)
I had no idea there was a sequence but I will be watching to see if you get an answer. I have a good mechanic but it takes time for him to reset that dash light too. I forgot to have him do it during the last oil change.
