i have a 99 dodge Dakota with 92k miles with 5.2L V8 magnum - Manual transmission. My father in law gave me this truck about a month ago after i was in a accident with my VW jetta. The truck had been sitting for about a year and a half and i was told it had a bad fuel pump so i changed that and it still would not start. I then replaced the computer still nothing. then i replaced the crank sensor and the vehicle ran great for a few minutes then started backfiring like crazy. after that i changed the plugs, wires, cap and rotor. now it seems to backfire less often but still does occasionally esspecialy in the morning when its cold but if i just drive it while it keeps backfiring it stops after a few minutes any ideas i am about to junk this thing...
