My car died, while driving it, about a week or two ago. I took the battery in to my local shop and they said all the cells were fine, and that the problem was probably with the alternator. Got my car home, finally got my alternator out and took it in. They replaced all the brushes and bearings. Got the alternator back in the car, and went for a test drive. Battery volts stayed constant, but low, about 11.5 volts, until after about 15 minutes of driving they finally started dropping until the car died again. Switched batteries, and tested the new battery before i put it in the car, 13ish volts. Once in the car and the car started the battery was at 10.9 volts and stayed constant at idle for about 20 minutes until it dropped down to 8 volts and I shut the car off. I've checked all the connections and they are all solid. Not sure where else to look. To my knowledge, the signs are pointing back to the alternator, but it's been rebuilt and the shop said they checked it and made sure it was working. Any other ideas to check before I drop the alternator for a second time??
